Chimney ruins of an abandoned slope brick kiln

The ruins of this abandoned slope brick kiln
at Kuala Lukut with a 2 meter high leftover chimney
probably from one as high as 7meters.

It is dangerous to get into one of these kiln as it is in the verge of collapsing.

These holes though which heat is transfered up the slope to the next kiln
and it all ends at the chimney where the smoke makes an exit.

if you're interested in kilns, there are many on Jalan Kuala Kangsar in Ipoh. I was there a few months back firing stuff in the kilns - they are still operational. Some pics on my blog http://inkypots.wordpress.com/2010/11/23/dragon-kiln-again/
