South wing Chimneys of Bintulu's abandoned brick kiln

The south wing kiln chimneys are of similar height as the earlier one,
that is two 9m and a 5m chimney.
I only found it on my third visit to the site as it was almost covered by bushes.
This is the production part of the brick factory with raw materials,
brick making machinery and storage area..

Unfired bricks.

Beltings running the machines.

  1. I take it that its not operational anymore? Abandoned? Why would they leav all those bricks and not sell them?

  2. Probably the company went bankrupt.
These old kiln are uneconomical to run these days
and most of them are being replaced by modern mechanized ones utilizing multi fuel to cut production cost down.
