This two 10m high brick chimney of Bee Leong Brickworks in Kuantan
is from a slope type brick kiln.
This kiln company is a very old one and i think it is one of the first few brick kiln operating in Kuantan. They also have a few tunnel kiln running in the factory.
The slope kiln is about 100m long with two kiln running parallel.
Firewood for the old kiln.
Wood chips is also used.
Clay for the brick making is source in the factory compound itself.

That chimney is neatly made, I wouldn't think of it as a chimney if I saw it. Thanks for sharing with us another interesting post.

ReplyDeleteThis type of kiln are not economical to run nowadays,
so the chimneys days are also numbered.
Better snap a photo before it comes tumbling down.
